Bidrage med feedbackThe prices at this restaurant have risen significantly. We were given paper menus and disposable bowls for our side dishes, which felt particularly disappointing considering the increased costs. Each of us only received a fork, without a knife for spreading butter on our bread. However, the most frustrating part of our experience was with our waitress, Keely. She didn’t provide us with straws, and when I requested some, she waved her hand dismissively at me, displaying a lack of courtesy and professionalism that was unacceptable. I ordered the grilled shrimp skewers, but unfortunately, the shrimp was overcooked. After being loyal customers for a long time, I’m afraid this will be our last visit to the restaurant. Tonight marks our final trip here.
What a delightful surprise! When we found the RV area at Daingerfield State Park closed due to sewer issues, we decided to stay at the RV park in Avinger. Several locals pointed us to this amazing restaurant, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The steak was exceptional and the staff was incredibly friendly. Everything was cooked to perfection, including the side dishes. We also shared a bowl of cherry cobbler, the special that night, which was probably the largest and tastiest cobbler we've ever had! You might be surprised that such a small town has a restaurant this impressive, but it really is that good. People travel from all over the county to eat here, so it's wise to arrive early. We got there at 4:15, shortly after it opened at 4 PM, and by 4:30, it was already full. The wooden tables and chairs were comfy, and if you're dining with a large group, it's a good idea to make a reservation.
We always enjoy dining at "5d." I've known the owners for my entire life, and I really appreciate the ambiance and the delicious food. It's even better now with the addition of live music! I highly recommend this restaurant.
I just had the most amazing steak here. The staff was incredibly friendly and ensured we were well looked after.
This restaurant is a hidden gem located in a less-traveled part of the city, and it’s well worth a visit. The chicken fried steak is excellent, but the true star of the menu is the dessert—haystacks. These delightful pie sticks are dusted with powdered sugar and come with chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. The menu also features a fantastic variety of side dishes. No matter where you're coming from, this restaurant is worth the journey. The staff is amazing, which likely contributes to its popularity with diners.
