Tanto - Auroville

I had lunch at this restaurant, as it appeared to be quite popular with a wait in the afternoon. The restaurant has a typical cafe atmosphere with half-open seating and many tables. The staff is limited and it takes them some time to attend to customers and take orders. Additionally, there are dogs and cats roaming around. In terms of the food, the portions are generous. I tried the mushroom cheese pasta, which was delicious, and their famous wood-fired pizza, which I found to be average. I also ordered the masala chicken pizza, but was disappointed as the flavors did not live up to expectations.

We tried the spicy pizza and it was fantastic. However, the pesto pasta with flat pasta was not as good. The fizzy drink was a refreshing choice. Don't miss out on the orange panna cotta!

We went to Tanto to celebrate my son's birthday. My son has mobility issues, and when I mentioned the need for a wheelchair, the owner graciously offered to help. He spoke to the owners of the neighboring Frittos and arranged for a special accommodation for us. Not only did he ensure my son's comfort, but his staff also went above and beyond to make it a memorable birthday dinner for my son. It's no surprise that this happened near Auroville. Thank you to the owner and his team for their exceptional service.

Had heard too much about it, but it turned out to be an overrated experience and pricey as well, when compared to the facilities, liked it anyhow. Salad was awesome!

Excellent pizza restaurant as a break from Indian food (which we love...). We chose the Veggie and the Quattro Fromagi. Excellent homemade ice-tea!
