Bidrage med feedbackI stayed for one night and found the reception staff to be fantastic and very helpful. The room itself was just average. Unfortunately, the room facing the airport was dirty, which was disappointing for my plane spotting hobby. On a positive note, Voya Sushi was excellent. However, the waitstaff could improve their attitude, as some were quite stern while others were overly casual. As for breakfast, it was decent; I ordered from the menu and found it good, but it didn't feel worth the price I paid.
In comparison, the Marriott in Chicago looks a thousand times better. Given the price I paid for this room, the quality is unacceptable. Additionally, the phone in the room didn't work to contact the front desk. While I know we all have cell phones, it’s still frustrating. This place feels empty and lacks character for the amount I was charged. I had to switch rooms three times due to various issues, and the beds are dreadful—honestly, the couch was more comfortable! This experience was truly disappointing.
The staff at this restaurant are very friendly, and it's worth noting that there are two airport locations, so make sure you're aware of that beforehand, as the drivers need to know where to go. It's a great spot for parking and flying out, or even just for staying as a guest. The lobby area is always bustling, which makes it quite noisy—not the ideal place to relax and have a drink. However, it serves its purpose well, which is becoming increasingly rare to find in a Marriott.
We booked reservations here due to the name, location and it gives an upscale appeal. We had zero issues booking and even did a form with the payment info electronically HOWEVER COMMA there was CONFUSION at check in even after all that. Even staff member apologized and stated that someone didn 't take care of business . I appreciated the genuineness of staff: Kiana, Duane and Mr. Mosley. The room was nice; I was disappointed by the shower floor having some sort of crack that was not aesthetically pleasing to the eye this crack definitely stuck out like a sore thumb (see photo attached). AT VOYA (Restaurant): There was a staff named Sharlene who was passive aggressive, unfriendly and totally unprofessional. Sharlene encouraged other staff x2 to laugh at a guest which I thought was very tasteless and I was shocked to have witnessed it. THE FOOD I had was good (see photo attached). Fried Chix Sandwich (inclu. Provolone cheese, mixed greens, tomato, onions, voya sauce) with Fries THE GIFT SHOP was a bit over priced. I got a small bottle of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice brought it over to the counter and when I was told the price... it almost took me out!!! $6.08!? You can get a 6 pack from the grocery store for that amount and still have some change to spare!!! Overall I would rate my stay: 6/10. It was good but it could 've been better for the amount paid and because it 's the Marriott... the name alone speaks upscale. There is definitely room for improvements. AGAIN, Shout Outs to: Kiana, Duane Mr. Mosley Manager. I appreciate the kindness, genuineness and great customer service.
I had a good experience the first time using this but the second time I used the hotel shuttle, on the trip back to the hotel from the airport, there was a bit of a wait for shuttles. It was a busy weekend night around 7pm. We were just about to get a taxi after 20minutes of waiting but then saw the Marriott shuttle from afar and decided to stay. We were so close, but then right before they came to pick us up, it turned to the other road that isn't for the shuttles and zoomed away, leaving us stranded us in the cold. At this point, it is now 30 minutes of waiting. So then we ultimately got a taxi and paid $30 for what is considered an included service. Completely unacceptable.
