Fantastic food. Nice, attentive staff. Cool old school place.
Unfortunately although we have dined here for lunch on several occasions and really enjoyed it, our dinner was very disappointing. We had a 7 o’clock reservation. Ordered cocktails but not did not receive them until almost 730. Our entrées were another hour or more. There was trouble in the kitchen but we never understood why even after asking the waitress for an explanation. The food, when did arrive, was good but not worth the wait. Will not be back anytime soon.
First, let's talk about the service. Our server, Claire, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel genuinely appreciated. Next, the atmosphere was cozy, and we were pleased to get a table in a quiet corner as we had requested. Now, onto the food: the front section of the menu features Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and both the Crispy Rock Shrimp and Calamari fit this theme perfectly. We received a generous portion of tender shrimp and squid, lightly fried in a tempura batter—plenty for two to share. The togarashi spice added an unexpected kick, although it felt slightly out of place, while the spicy aioli provided a nice cooling effect. The King Crab Risotto was rich with cheesy flavor and had an abundance of crab meat. However, the pan-roasted salmon was rather disappointing. The fingerling potatoes were delightful, but the sun-dried tomato pesto had an odd, unpleasant taste. Lastly, I found the wine list to be quite pricey, which increased the overall cost of our dinner.
A favorite in Aspen! I really enjoy the outdoor seating. The service is excellent, and the food is fantastic.
