Staff too busy chatting with each other to serve patrons. Had to wander around finding a waitress. No water served with meal so had to get up from table again and find waitress. Food was excellent.

Wonderful variety of food! There aren't many places where everything on the menu looks good at a fare price. This place has just that. The fish and chips are fabulous as well as the chowder. The food was overpriced and very small servings. It is definitely not what I would call a cafe . Bathrooms were very dirty. Manager was nice.

Really disappointed with the customer service here!! Was visiting Cape Breton with my family and saw Main street cafe on Google maps. Went online and placed an order for 7 people. After a few minutes I realized that I had placed my order with this restaurant, not the one in Cape Breton. Immediately I called Main Street Cafe to cancel my order. Nobody answered the phone. My husband also tried on his phone and no answer. There was no way to cancel my order that I just placed. Obviously I wasn 't going to drive a few hours to pick it up. Upon returning home, I noticed my credit card was charge for the meal. I tried to dispute with my credit card company but they said the restaurant is refusing a refund. So incredibly frustrating considering I attempted to call more than once and nobody picked up the phone. What kind of establishment doesn 't answer phone calls during business hours??? Also what kind of business charges a customer when no product or service was given? Absolutely ridiculous!

Got here around 12:40 for lunch. It took at least 30 minutes before we actually ordered. It took at least another 20 minutes before we got all our drinks and appetizers. We got 4 of 5 plates, 15 minutes after our drinks. Our waiter said that the last plate would be around 2 or 3 minutes. The rest of us were almost finished our food before the last plate of food finally came. Apparently they served what was supposed to be our plate to another table because our waiter took too long to grab it, however she never bothered to give us an update about it either. The food could’ve been better also, considering the price. She was a nice person, but should not be a waitress. There were multiple times were she walked past our table and completely ignored us. Would give zero stars but can’t so its a 1.
