Bistro East - Annapolis Royal

We dropped in and asked about GF options. The new owner was very nice but said that they are just building the business and will be looking at GF options in future.

The restaurant was wonderful. Sadly the building sold and restaurant is now closed. Update: Bistro East has reopened under new ownership. I stopped by to make reservations for dinner and spoke to a member of the waitstaff about gluten free options. (GF pizza is on the menu listed outside. She said in a clipped and rude tone “ We really don’t have any. That was the old menu. “ I won’t be recommending or visiting this restaurant until the new owners hire some decent staff.

New owners as of April 2023. No gluten free options aside from salads. Menu says plans for GF pizza crust at some point.

Excellent meal. Nice staff. Very celiac aware. Can do almost everything on the menu gluten free. Would definitely go again. No reservations so go early, put your name in and enjoy walking around town.

This place was great! They were very knowledgeable about celiac disease. Most of their menu could be made gluten free. I didnt have the pizza but they do offer it GF. The haddock special with scallops and fries was wonderful and the mousse for dessert didn't get me sick either! Highly recommend.
