Belmar Bakery & Cafe - Amarillo

Very disappointed! This used to be my favorite place in the world! As a kid this was such a treat. If mom brought home Belmar we knew something good was happening and we were celebrating. It’s tragic that you have completely lost that special touch that made you Amarillo’s best bakery! You have gone so cheap cutting back on everything to save and cut corners to the point of losing customers you have had for over 40 years! A thumbprint cookie should have icing in the thumbprint! I guess you have two year olds, putting the thumb print! My gosh stop being cheap.!!! it’s icing it can’t possibly be that expensive and if it is maybe that justifies you charging what you charge! It used to be buy two dozen cookies you get one for free now you get it half price. come on Belmar do better! Consumers are NOT going to put up with this forever! By the way, you have to actually put a thumbprint into the cookie or your icing tends to fall off! Just a tip from someone knew how the old Belmar was!Also, I have memories with my mother find us napoleons. I have tried them several times, and every time I buy them here at Delmar. They are old and not even edible. Please do better. Some of us have been loyal to a fault otherwise I wouldn’t still be coming here. Please care about your customers again!!!

My Daughter in law ordered a cake for my granddaughter’s birthday and paid over 100 dollars for it. After cutting into the cake, the icing in between the layers of cake was almost if not about an inch thick. We tried again last month and ordered a cake for my grandson’s birthday, and again disappointed with the thick icing. We would have gladly paid more for more layers of cake if we knew it was going to be more icing than cake. The thing that really disappointed even more was the fact that my grandson’s cake was Jurassic Park and brown and green in color then got the smash cake in white… Seriously??? the person who took the order said it was going to be the same color as the cake then when I mentioned it to the girl, she said they can redo it if wanted to wait 20 minutes which I didn’t have that time, so we ended up with a brown and white cake. I think I’m done with this place. I don’t recommend it at all.., it’s really gone downhill on top it it looking so dirty..

Belmar used to be THE bakery to get anything you are craving. The past year or 2 this place has really declined in food quality. This is a fruit pie i got a couple days ago and as you can see there 1 apple slice and barely any filling. The other half looked exactly the same for a total of 2 apple slices in a homemade fruit pie. My husband used to love their eclairs, but the last few times we got some, there is literally only filling in half of the eclair, so i stopped getting those for him and tried a fruit pie just to find the same issue. We won’t be going back to waste money at this bakery until they get bakers who actually care about the quality of product they are selling.

I had ordered a cake and planned on picking it up Saturday during normal business hours after I got off work, but unfortunately I had to work late until well past their closing time and Jennifer told me that she could meet me there in 20 minutes, so I could still pick up the cake I had ordered for my fiancé’s birthday party. If I could give them a 20 star rating for service, I would.
