The Royal George Inn - Allerdale

My second time at royal george with my family and again our meals were brilliant the large portions you get are second to none and the food was superb again i had the mixed grill and really delicous again i cant wait for my next visit there

Getting straight to the point....It doesn't have kerb appeal thanks to the peeling paint around the windows and doors. The pavement outside is littered with cigarette buts and weeds. . The food is ok. The dining room has no atmosphere. The bar area needs a good makeover. The chairs and bench seats are stained and look very grubby. The landlord, when he appears, doesn't look interested in his customers. The youngsters who serve behind the bar and take food orders do their best but don't look happy. Football and Rugby fans don't bother as they have cancelled SKY.

Fantastic meals for myself and family the portions you get are truly amazing the staff could not be more helpful absolutely top class

Went for a meal for a friend's birthday. Done expect a sizzler to conain a diced up pre cooked chicken breast and throw some sauce on it. Battered strips of pre cooked chicken.. greasy. Definitely not the best meal I have had the Workington area. Might have been an off day for the cook, but how food is cooked does need rethinking. Staff on bar were attentive though and a credit to the team, bit nippy inside though!

Very welcoming , the young staff on duty was very helpful and the service they gave was excellent. Food was delicious. Would recommend.
