Surprisingly good food. The sauce with the mushroom starter had great flavour and well balanced with wafer toast. The plum jam was perfect with the pate . . . the scallops were superbly cooked, the tempura prawns were perfect and the crumble fragrant. What’s more we could park and had prompt smiling service! The roast was very enjoyable and the staff friendly and efficient.. The decor was tired and tatty, curtains not hanging properly, paint worn off the doors leading to the toilets. Restaurant walls and doors in need of redecorating. We parked at the rear of the hotel and the rear of the hotel looks very drab. We enjoyed our meal but will not be returning until some refurbishment is undertaken Price per person: £30–40
