Afghan Kabab Express - Albany

My family and I often order food from here, and it never disappoints. The portions are generous, and the flavors are fantastic. It's one of the best halal restaurants in the capital region.

I visited Afghan Kabab for a takeout lunch and found it easily located on the left side of the plaza. I ordered the Chicken Kebab along with a Snapple, and my total came to $14. A nice touch is that the dish comes with a mini salad. The Chicken Kebab itself was fantastic; the chicken was flavorful with a delightful spice that wasn't overwhelming. The green sauce they provide is incredible—dipping the chicken into it elevated the dish significantly. The pita bread and salad were decent but nothing extraordinary, and the rice was also average, though well-cooked. However, the combination of the chicken with the sauce was outstanding. I highly recommend getting food from here!

The chicken over rice is all you need. I highly recommend asking for extra white and green sauce. I can't wait to come back and try their other offerings!

I don't come across Afghan restaurants very often, so when I spotted one during our trip to Albany, I was eager to give it a try. My husband and I ordered the following to share: Falafel Pita Wrap, Badenjan, Mix Gyro Over Rice, and Bolani. I enjoyed everything we had, but my top two favorites were the Bolani and the Mix Gyro Over Rice. We opted for takeout, and I was pleased to see that everything traveled well.

Love this place !! My little brother turned me on to it and OMFG my taste buds are screaming joy right now literally mouth watering Waiting for them to open .. Food is delicious my Favorite is the chicken and rice with extra chicken and extra whitesauce !! Yummy !!!
