Bar L'Astoria - Aix-en-Provence

This is a very small breakfast - lunch restaurant that we found very good and economical. We had lunch here one day and that day the special was veal in rice. This was the most tender veal we have had in France, maybe because of the way it was cooked. It also came with a green salad and for about 10 euros, this was a very filling meal for not much money. The menu is quite small, so we only looked for the lunch special. We would have gone back here to eat on another day, but we did not find a lunch special we wanted that day. It does have outdoor searing and a limited amount of indoor seating. Because it does fill up at noon, arriving a bit before noon is recommended.

Delicious food and such friendly staff. By far, the most warm-hearted, welcoming cafe in the South of France.

Friendly and attentive service even though we arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. Would have been easy for them to say they were closed, but glad they didn't. Enjoyed a nice lunch with a genuine fried mozzarella salad....different The lunch special of lamb with polenta was all out, but we were able to try the delicious polenta!!Dessert was a good pannacota and creme brûlée. All around we had a great Saturday lunch with a nice bottle of Provence rosé to round off the lunch. Forgot to mention that our intention was to try a new restaurant that we had never eaten at before...pleasant surprise. Will definitely be back soon!

Super petit resto idéal pour déjeuner rapidement et en plein cœur d'Aix. Service rapide, efficace et surtout très sympathique. Nourriture excellente, jamais décevante. David, le patron fait tout pour satisfaire ses convives. Tout y est fait en toute simplicité et c'est très agréable. On y retourne très souvent.

Un bar café restaurant bien connu sur Aix. Souvent la "cantine" du midi avec des plats du jour attrayants. Portion généreuse et service sympathique !
