Il Rustico - ACIREALE

Food was good, but the service is super slow which ruins your experience. Overcrowded, and waiters can’t deal with the orders on time unfortunately.

We stayed at Ibis nearby therefore this restaurant was the perfect choice considering the location. We ate there first time on may 16 and we enjoyed the food and service (especially the waiter on duty that evening). Therefore, as we came back in Acireale one week later, we returned to Il Rustico on 22nd of May this year. This time we were completely disappointed especially by the service. This time was very crowded, the waiter (man) in service didn't want to come by our table anymore to take the order after we weren't able to order immediately upon arrival. After waiting quite long, there was a girl waiter who took the order from us. After that .... we had to insist more than once for the sparkling water ordered, I had the Involtini alla siciliana (with beef) and I got 3 very little meat rolls, I don't know if there were 100 g there ... Please understand, I am not a eater, I don't need much food to be contempt, but this was ... like a starter if not less. My husband had sword fish involtini and he got 5 pieces so ... I don't know. We also ordered 2 portions of potato fries and we got only one. I thought that the girl didn't get me as she had poor english so I didn't insist on that ... only when the bill came, we had to pay for 2 portions so she got me well but they didn't deliver. I didn't say anything though, we payed and left as we didn't know how to leave sooner. I'm sorry Il Rustico, first experience was a pleasant one (thanks to the waiter on duty on may 16 evening), second one was very disappointing ... I dind't know what to think ... I even thought that my beef involtini should be larger and someone thought of playing a nasty trick on us, not to mention paying 2 potato fries and getting one. I left with a bitter taste ...

The best pizza we had in Sicily! We had to come back here on the following night because we were craving their delicious pizza

Excellent food. Especially the smoked salmon and grilled swordfish. The staff is very helpful although they do not really speak English, but if you know a little bit of Italian, you will be fine. I would give 5 stars but on the last evening of our vacation we went there to have dinner but they were closed, even though on google maps showed they are open...

Good food. Very crowded. Expensive. 2.5 euro coperto.
