Bidrage med feedbackA lovely, well lighted, tastefully decorated restaurant with impeccable service, this bistro serves many gluten free and some vegan items. I started with the calamari, which was crisp, lightly battered and came with a tangy, delicious homemade dip. Not gluten free - I cheated a bit. Their gluten free artichoke pizza, made to order, fresh, is the absolute best pizza I've had, even compared to regular pizza. I always finish my meal with the flourless chocolate cake which is amazing, rich and creamy, or the creme caramel which is as well. The rest of the menu is also delicious. Everyone in the family enjoyed their choices, even the kids. The pulled pork egg rolls are definitely worth trying and the Neptune Penne made a big impression. A must go to place!
For us this is a up scale restaurant. We like to indulge sometimes. I love in the winter when they put a fire on outside. You can get a 3 or 4 course meal for 50.00
My wife and I came up to Windsor to explore the city and decided to finally stop here at Cocoa Pesto since we had so much about it. Friends from HFX know the owners and had also highly (and repeatedly) recommends it so we were overdue ... and expectations were high, very high. Scott (chef/owner) and Marilyn (manager/owner) work magic here! On top of a very good wine list that includes a judicious mix of excellent local choices that can hold their own in competition with some of the old world selections, the menu is eclectic yet reflective of the best that the Nova Scotia and the Valley (and this Gateway City) has to offer. For now, we can only rave about the salmon, fish tacos, and key lime pie we had that evening. We have been telling EVERYONE back in HFX that their next trip to the Valley should include a stop here since you are perfectly positioned to either begin your oeno-gastrological exploration with some fine wine and light fare or complete it with a meal that will knock your socks off! The food, wine, and environment provide pleasure and the bill is not as painful as you may fear. They've got beautiful rooms upstairs so you could even (over) indulge and stay the night. This is a must-do stop on your itinerary between Halifax and the Valley.
We had wonderful food that seemed to be prepared with the best of ingredients. The clams and chips special was nicely done in a Panko-type coating and the bacon haddock chowder was as creamy as any we have ever tasted. The 3 course meal deal was well worth the $29.95 I paid for my meal. We were pleased as well with the excellent service from very friendly young ladies who gave us the right amount of time alone and still kept us feeling pampered. Thank you for a wonderful date night!
My family and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant on a summer evening. It was a spur of the moment decision, but we were not disappointed. The scallop dinner we ordered was delicious, with perfectly cooked asparagus and fingerling potatoes. The sauce was amazing. The presentation was beautiful and the food arrived quickly and hot. We definitely plan on coming back. The table next to us was enjoying a steak dinner that looked fantastic as well. We will have to try it out next time!
