Yum Cha Cuisine - Carindale

Usually have great service here but today found it terrible l. They need to learn what the word later means. As in my table is full of food please come back with your trolley a bit later as soon as you say not right now...or later they will completely ignore you afterwards. I gave up waiting for a trolley to stop at our table and left.

Still scratching my head from what can only be described as the worst customer service experience of my life... Choosing to have Yum Cha at Carindale Shopping Centre today turned out to be quite a stressful experience when my mother simply made a complaint to...a waitress about how watery the sweet sour sauce was this time around we regularly visit Yum Cha restaurants located in the Brisbane and Gold Coast areas. This waitress obviously is not used to receiving complaints as she responded to it in the worst form I’ve ever witnessed. I can understand that receiving complaints is not a pleasant experience for anyone but as someone who is required to serve customers she should be trained adequately to take on a customer complaint in a professional manner. Not by attempting to argue with them and then force to make her point by throwing a sample of every type of sauce they have in the kitchen in front of me then storming off. This level of unprofessionalism was not expected from a restaurant we usually enjoy and regularly visit (granted we don’t visit Carindale often). This poor level of service had most of us feeling very uncomfortable and put most of us off our food by this point. While during this time my water I ordered had not arrived, all staff were ignoring our table and so my partner could not even order any food (not that he really felt they deserved our business anyway). But this was not the worst to come... Next mum decided to have a private conversation with the manger to discuss her concerns about the poor level of service received in an attempt to improve the situation, when multiple staff started to surround our table. Then the owner wanted to make himself known from the crowd by raising his voice to mum in front of the entire restaurant causing a massive scene unnecessarily. Yelling to mum saying “if your not happy with something you should make a complaint!” This really blew my mind as making a complaint was how we arrived in this mess in the first place. The difference being that you clearly cannot handle a complaint! His behaviour was absolutely stunning as he went on about how abusive my mum was to the waitress she made a simple complaint to about the sauce she received with her meal. This man was definitely not one that anyone could possibly come to any agreement or happy resolution with as he ranted and raved to the entire restaurant. While most customers looked on in shock and surprise, hopefully making his management technique look like an utter embarrassment to everyone else too. Then as we decided to move on from his establishment gladly he started to yell to the staff to call security. Wow, that was next level, as we simply made a complaint originally and this whole ordeal was blown completely out of proportion and now his treating us as criminals as we all walked towards the register to pay (something that he should have offered to cover to keep his customers happy after the awful experience received). Granted there were some staff that acted professionally including the woman trying desperately encourage the owner to treat the customer with more respect and the lovely lady who ended up offering me a small discount at the register. Eventually when security came they also dealt with the matter professionally and we are all left wondering how people like this can even stay in business?! Soo...in a nutshell it’s your choice to eat wherever you please but I wouldn’t be expecting a pleasant experience either from this place. Just thought I should share my story.

We ordered Asian greens and wonton soup to start. The trolley came around and we chose one basket and that was it! The trolley didn’t come back and as hard as we tried, it was impossible to attract anyone’s attention to order more food. The...staff were busy cleaning and we were of no interest to them. The only time we were noticed was when we were patiently standing at the cash register to pay. It was a nondescript, tasteless meal and the service was extremely poor, which is a shame as we have previously enjoyed eating there. Will never go there again

Nice enough spot, great friendly and quick service, reasonable price, but it was just lacking something. A lot tasted similar, salt and pepper chicken was excellent. Happy to give stars.

Hard to believe this is “Mall Food”! Busy and noisy but the food is so fresh wether you order from the cart or kitchen.
